Integrative Bodywork (Back to Top)

As a therapist, I honor the individuality & uniqueness of my clients which often requires different modalities of treatment. Myofascial work is an invaluable tool for structural balance as it allows the restrictions of the fascia to be released thus deepening contact with the musculature assisting with realignment of the body.

My intention is to remove the physiological and energetic blockages  that inhibit a peaceful and balanced flow of energy.  With this objective in mind, I apply my knowledge of various skills and modalities woven into bodywork that is gentle yet deep. I integrate specific stretching techniques to lengthen and relax muscles and joint manipulations that promote greater mobility and fluidity. I then balance the body's energy with the flow of "Esalen style" massage...long, flowing, nurturing strokes that release tension and create a feeling of wholeness...leaving the body resting in a peaceful harmonious state.

My intention is to empower my clients with an awareness of their own self healing as well as provide an experience that is healing, therapeutic and deeply pleasurable.

Energy work (Back to Top)

Energy Conciousness...

Every human being has the ability to sense the energy fields being transmitted by other human bodies.  Everything is energy...the physical body is energy as well as our emotions and beliefs. It is a dance between the science of healing and the great mystery of healing.

As an energy sensitive therapist, by aligning with positive intentionality I can feel and influence the patterns and frequency of vibration within the human energy field, thus facilitating balance which supports healing.  The human energy field is the matrix structure upon which the cells of the physical body grow and is the template of the physical body. The human energy field is of vital importance and is directly connected with health and illness. What happens in the physical body, first happens in the patterns of the energy field.

Note that it is important to work along with your physician as well as attention to nutrition, stress management etc. as there are many factors that influence the health and strength of the human energy field.

Deep Tissue Massage (Back to Top)

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don’t get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Swedish Massage (Back to Top)

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Russian massage (Back to Top)

Russian massage is considered to be one of the most non-invasive and relaxing form of massage therapies. It employs techniques such as petrissage, effleurage, friction and vibration to relieve pain and induce relaxation. I use a combination of gentle stretching, kneading, gliding strokes, vigorous rubbing and vibratory motions to massage the muscles and joints. The relaxing effects of the massage are felt almost immediately. Russian massage is beneficial in a wide number of situations including musculoskeletal imbalances, gastrointestinal problems, cardiovascular or neurological disorders. It has been used to treat ailments such as arthritis, sprains and strains, TMJ, bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic pains, rotator cuff injuries, colic and constipation, spastic colon and disorders of the immune system. It is also an excellent method of speeding up post-surgical recovery.     It also helps to stimulate the circulation of blood and lymph and promotes the release of endorphins to activates the body’s natural pain ameliorating system. Russian massage is also an excellent method of relieving stress and tensions and helps to relax, refresh and reenergize the body and the mind.  Studies have shown that Russian massage can have a beneficial effect on atrophied muscles. Proper treatment can also help to remove any restrictions in the joints and restore proper range of movement to the affected areas.
